No One Warned Me

When I signed up to read John Green's The Fault In Our Stars I didn't know what I was getting myself into.

Dearest reader, I have become addicted to BlogHer's Book Club.  I've always wondered what a book club would be like, and thanks to this group I've been introduced to books and authors I honestly have never heard of and would probably not have touched.

This book. THIS BOOK.  It caught me off guard.  I read it in under 24 hours because I couldn't stop and wanted to know what came next.  Wanted that happy ending.  At one point, I was crying and couldn't tell you anything more than it was so beautifully written, and the characters spoke to me.

For the record, my husband is thinking of limiting my reading of selections because this has been happening a lot over the last 3 months.

It was wonderful to read a story about intelligent teenagers who didn't want the sparkly vampire or local bad boy werewolf to notice them.  While I admit those books are good fun, The Fault In Our Stars put them to shame.

I'll be looking for more books by John Green to read, believe me.  And you should definitely read this one when you have a chance and join the conversation here and get to know more about the story and its author.

Please have tissue handy.  Trust me.

This is a sponsored review for the BlogHer Book Club. While compensation will be forthcoming for taking the time to write about the book, the opinions stated are all mine and mine alone.
